BOOK A CAMBELT CHANGE FOR YOUR VW, AUDI, SKODA OR SEAT

Your cambelt, or timing belt, is incredibly important. It drives major parts of the engine and keeps everything working in harmony. Quite simply, it is one of the hardest working parts in your engine. And, because it is a rubber belt, it needs changing to prevent cracks, tears or snapping. If your cambelt breaks, your car is unlikely to drive at all.

Therefore, booking a cambelt change at the appropriate intervals helps minimise the risk of major engine damage. If it were to break it could cause serious damage to your engine resulting in a hefty bill or, in worst case scenarios, a new engine.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A CAMBELT REPLACEMENT?

It is recommended that you book a cambelt change every 60,000 miles or 4 years (whichever comes first), if your car was registered before September 2009, and every 5 years or 80,000 miles (whichever comes sooner) if your car was registered after September 2009. This applies to most VWAudiSEAT and Skoda (VAG group) models – but we are always happy to answer your questions if you are unsure. Just give us a call.

We always recommend replacing the water pump at the same time as a cambelt replacement, a recommendation we will explain below.
